#2 Read More (Field Analysis Blog, Bundle 3)

Read more for bundle 3 was rather difficult. This is because there isn't much writing on photographers. Maybe that's because a picture is worth 1,000 words, haha. Anyways, I did as much research on Skip Bolen as possible. I looked up for books, couldn't find any. Could barely find any articles on him, basically all I could find was his photography website, Wikipedia, and his Facebook page. Basically from what I found I complied a bundle document about his biography. He's not a super well known photographer but he is pretty famous. He has a lot of his photography on Getty Images and Wireimage. He also does a lot of work for Jazz magazines and pictures for the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. From reading more I learned a lot because I hadn't known anything about Skip Bolen to begin with.
From all the things that I have read I learned he has done a lot of traveling and a lot of picture taking. He started his photography career at only age 8! His love is for taking pictures of jazz groups and the New Orleans culture, where he grew up. I learned he also does still photographs for some television shows such as True Blood and K-Ville. Even summing this up for you is about all I know too. There is not a lot of information about Skip Bolen, he is somewhat of a mysterious character. So overall, reading more did help me for my bundle because I started off knowing nothing. However, even though I did learn a lot, I didn't learn nearly as much as I thought I would.

  1. HI! I see that you wrote this summer of 2011 and so I'm not sure if you're still checking this, however.... I somehow stumbled across your blog.... I like the part where you write that Skip Bolen is somewhat of a mysterious character. Here is a little bit more information about me at ALL ABOUT JAZZ: http://www.allaboutjazz.com/php/article.php?id=41921

    enjoy!
